Nature Exploration

Nature Exploration

Our nature exploration program allows campers to discover some of the outdoors’s most magical wonders through gardening, camp craft, and hiking activities.

Camp Craft

During Camp Craft, campers learn outdoor wilderness skills as well as gain a greater appreciation for their natural surroundings through group-led activities and supervised, independent exploration.

Garden

Our camp vegetable and fruit garden is home to eggplant, tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, mint, cucumbers, and much more. Campers have the opportunity to grow, weed, water, plant, and, of course, taste all of our natural harvests. Our fresh garden ingredients are often used as inspiration and ingredients for our culinary program.

Hiking

With trails located adjacent to our property, campers and staff are able to enjoy hiking expeditions in our very own backyard, at Harriman State Park. Hikes are age- and skill-appropriate. Staff-led nature walks are also offered right on our campground, allowing campers to examine the trees, plants, insects, and creatures who also call Camp Settoga their home.
