Counselor in Training (CIT) Program

A summer of leadership, connection, and new experiences.
Looking for something beyond traditional summer camp? Our Counselor in Training (CIT) Program offers teens ages 14 and 15 a unique opportunity to build leadership skills, gain hands-on experience, and connect with peers through a mix of camp involvement, workshops, community service, and field trips.
Each morning, CITs work alongside experienced camp counselors and specialists, supporting younger campers ages 3–8 through activities, daily routines, and play. With guidance from our camp leadership team, teens gain firsthand experience in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and working with children.
Afternoons are designed specifically for our CITs, with interactive leadership workshops, electives, volunteer opportunities, field trips, and time to connect with peers. From developing professional skills to exploring new interests, participants are encouraged to take initiative, build independence, and discover their strengths.
Rooted in the JCC’s values of community, connection, and tikkun olam, this program offers a balance of responsibility, personal growth, and summer fun.
